Because your child is under 18, Zimbabwe’s Cyber and Data Protection Act [Chapter 12:07] requires us to obtain your explicit written consent before we may process your child’s personal data or give them access to the platform.
What personal information do we collect about your child?
We collect only what is necessary to provide the service: first name, surname, year of birth (not full date), school name, class, and platform usage data (subjects accessed, time on platform, questions asked). We do not collect photos, voice recordings, GPS location, or financial information.
How do we use your child’s data?
We use it to operate the platform, provide educational support, measure impact, and improve our service. We never sell your child’s data or use it for advertising. Your child’s data is encrypted and accessible only to authorised Arson Pixelz staff on a need-to-know basis.
Your rights as a parent or guardian:
You may at any time request access to, correction of, or deletion of your child’s personal data, or withdraw your consent, by writing to privacy@arsonpixelz.com. If you withdraw consent, your child’s account will be deactivated.

PART D — LEGAL BASIS NOTE (for internal use and privacy documentation)
The parental consent requirement for users under the age of 18 is mandated by:
(a) Section 26 of the Cyber and Data Protection Act [Chapter 12:07] of Zimbabwe, which provides that where the data subject is a child, their rights under the DPA may be exercised by their parents or legal guardian;
(b) Section 10 of the DPA, which requires consent of a competent person where the data subject is a child;
(c) Regulation 10(5)(a) and 10(5)(b) of SI 2024-155, which require that children’s personal information shall not be processed without the consent of the parent or legal guardian, and that the data controller shall make reasonable efforts to verify that consent has been given;
(d) The definition of “child” in section 3 of the DPA as any person under the age of eighteen years.
