How We Use Cookies on the
Platform
A product of Arson Pixelz (Private) Limited | Version 1.0 | 6 July 2026 | Governing Law: Zimbabwe
1. WHAT ARE COOKIES?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device (computer, tablet, or smartphone) when you visit a website or use a web-based platform. They allow the platform to recognise your device, remember your preferences, and improve your experience. Cookies do not give us access to your device or to any information stored on it beyond what is described in this Policy.
2. WHO SETS COOKIES ON THE
PLATFORM?
Cookies on the
Platform (“Platform”) are set by Arson Pixelz (Private) Limited (“Arson Pixelz”, “we”, “us”), a company incorporated under the Companies and Other Business Entities Act [Chapter 24:31] of Zimbabwe (Registration Number: 82248A0122026), whose registered address is 2476 Cowdray Park, Zimbabwe.
3. TYPES OF COOKIES WE USE
3.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies
These cookies are essential for the Platform to function. They enable core features such as account login, session management, and security. Without these cookies, the Platform cannot operate properly. These cookies are set automatically and do not require your consent.
Examples: session token cookies, CSRF security tokens, load balancer cookies.
3.2 Functional Cookies
These cookies remember your preferences and settings to provide a more personalised experience. For example, they may remember your preferred language, subject preferences, and whether you have previously acknowledged a notice on the Platform.
These cookies are set with your consent.
3.3 Analytics and Performance Cookies
These cookies help us understand how users interact with the Platform. They collect information about which pages and features are used most frequently, how long users spend on different parts of the Platform, and whether any errors occur. This information is used in aggregate and anonymised form to improve the Platform’s performance and educational effectiveness.
Examples: platform usage analytics, feature engagement tracking.
These cookies are set with your consent.
3.4 What We Do NOT Use
We do not use advertising cookies, targeting cookies, or cookies that track your activity across third-party websites. We do not sell or share cookie-derived data with advertisers.
4. COOKIES AND CHILDREN
Where learners under the age of 18 use the Platform, parental or guardian consent is required before the Platform is accessed. That consent process covers the use of non-essential cookies as described in this Policy. We apply a privacy-by-default approach for all users and a heightened level of data minimisation for users who are children, in line with the Cyber and Data Protection Act [Chapter 12:07] of Zimbabwe and SI 155 of 2024.
5. HOW LONG DO COOKIES LAST?
Session cookies expire when you close your browser or log out of the Platform. Persistent cookies remain on your device for a fixed period (as set out in the cookie details available via the cookie preference centre on the Platform) or until you delete them. You can delete cookies at any time through your browser settings.
6. YOUR CHOICES AND HOW TO MANAGE COOKIES
6.1 Cookie Consent Banner. When you first access the Platform, a cookie consent banner will ask for your consent for non-essential cookies (functional and analytics cookies). You may accept all, reject non-essential cookies, or manage your preferences category by category.
6.2 Withdrawing Consent. You may change or withdraw your cookie preferences at any time by accessing the cookie preference centre on the Platform. Withdrawing consent for non-essential cookies will not affect your ability to use the core features of the Platform.
6.3 Browser Settings. You can also control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to block or delete all cookies. Note that blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent the Platform from functioning correctly.
7. THIRD-PARTY COOKIES
Some of our third-party cloud and analytics service providers may set their own cookies on your device when you use the Platform. These providers are contractually bound to use such data only for the purposes described in this Policy and in accordance with our instructions. We do not permit these providers to use your data for their own advertising or marketing purposes.
8. UPDATES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via a notice on the Platform. The date at the top of this document reflects the date it was last reviewed.
